You always knew that there was something special about Borgata‘s Old Homestead Steakhouse. Now, there’s proof. Zagat has named Old Homestead the best steakhouse in New Jersey, proving that the establishment, which has been a staple at Borgata since the casino’s opening in 2003, is a very good thing. It also was ranked in the top 7 “Best Restaurants in New Jersey,” and was ranked the top “Atlantic City Restaurant.”
“’Carnivores’ paradise’ is what fans call this outpost of the iconic NYC steakhouse, where ‘awesome’ steaks, ‘enticing’ seafood and a ‘great wine selection’ are served by a ‘professional’ staff in a ‘comfortable’, upscale setting,” wrote Zagat. Some Zagat reviewers even called Old Homestead a “bucket-list experience.” We couldn’t agree more!
Old Homestead, a New York City institution, is one of the country’s oldest steakhouses and is known for serving the finest steaks in the Big Apple for nearly 150 years. Brothers and owners Marc and Greg Sherry believe in the adage “don’t mess with a good thing,” which is why the menu at their steakhouse in Atlantic City nearly mirrors the one in New York. And for good reason: “We haven’t had an empty seat in quite a few years,” Greg explained. Guests have long enjoyed the restaurant’s trademarked domestically raised, hand-massaged Wagyu beef, along with their 20 ounce Prime Steakhouse Burger, Bang Bang Shrimp, Potato Wrapped Chilean Sea Bass, and their Glazed Doughnut Ice Cream Sandwich.
However, Old Homestead wasn’t the only Borgata restaurant to earn top honors by Zagat. Bobby Flay Steak was ranked Atlantic City’s “Most Popular Restaurant” (Old Homestead was number four; Wolfgang Puck American Grille was number six), and was one of the top 10 “New Jersey’s Most Popular Restaurants.” Wolfgang Puck American Grille was named the number three “Best for Burgers” restaurant in the state of New Jersey. Our Japanese pub Izakaya was ranked as the second best Atlantic City Restaurant (beat only by Old Homestead); Fornelletto was ranked in the top ten New Jersey restaurants for Best Decor.
In short, Borgata’s signature restaurants make the resort the East Coast’s premiere dining destination…and THE place to dine in Atlantic City! Make sure you make reservations for any of our eateries by calling 609-317-1000.
