You may have heard that Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa is now fully part of MGM Resorts International and part of one of the world’s leading global hospitality companies, operating a portfolio of destination resort brands including Bellagio, MGM Grand, Mandalay Bay and The Mirage.
The company is in the process of developing MGM National Harbor in Maryland and MGM Springfield in Massachusetts.
So here in Atlantic City, we’ve scheduled MGM National Harbor Career Fair for Wednesday August 10 and Thursday August 11 at the Borgata Event Center.
You know what’s the best thing about Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa this summer?
Sure, it’s nice to pop by and experience Premier Nightclub or our new Borgata Beer Garden, maybe take in a great show and have a great dinner. But instead of heading for the parking garage, the best way to follow up a night at Borgata is an overnight stay in a classic room followed by a relaxing day at Borgata’s outdoor pool.
Why the pitch? Because we want you here and we’re giving away one overnight stay to lucky winners every week from July 15 to August 24 in our “My Borgata Summer Sweepstakes.”
At Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa, there’s a lot going on to appeal to the social media and online app conscious – Premier Nightclub and our great nightlife, fabulous restaurants, poker tournaments and online gaming at BorgataCasino.com and BorgataPoker.com, just to name a few.
But perhaps most importantly, Borgata is riding the biggest online app craze going.
Yes, we have PokeStops – at least five and counting.
In a word, we’re honored.
If you haven’t heard of the craze called Pokemon Go – maybe you live in a cave, for example – it’s a game designed for smartphones that has millions of people scouring the country for little pocket monsters (Really, that’s what Pokemon means). And when we say millions, we mean millions as the game has been downloaded a reported 7.5 million times and it was released less than two weeks ago. That means thousands of people probably downloaded it since you began reading this post.
Fourth of July Weekend is one of the biggest weekends of the year in Atlantic City and at Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa, and that means we do it up right. We’ve put together an amazing line-up of events, concerts, shows and excitement fit for a shore blow out in honor of our nation’s birthday.
And, of course, that means fireworks as Atlantic City is putting on two fireworks programs for the weekend this year, First up is a beach and boardwalk show July 3, then on July 4th, the fireworks spectacle will be held in Atlantic City’s Marina District, which makes Borgata the best place to view the show in the resort.
The U.S. Navy SEALS are one of the most respected military units in the world and are renowned for the toughest and most challenging training regimens anywhere.
And we at Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa want to bring that challenge to Atlantic City by being the first ever casino-resort to host the “Bone Frog Challenge” obstacle course race, taking place on Saturday, June 18, and featuring a guaranteed $15,000 in cash and prizes.
“Borgata could not be more excited to introduce our local community to this unique experience in which contestants can test their physical fitness along-side actual Navy SEALs on a course constructed specifically for military training,” said Joe Lupo, Senior Vice President of Operations for Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa.
Memorial Day is the unofficial start of the summer season and that’s something we take very seriously here at Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa.
Not that we don’t enjoy spring, or fall for that matter, but when summer rolls around we tend to take our partying to the next level.
For Memorial Day 2016, Borgata has lined up a great weekend of shows, nightlife, and casino promotions to usher in the season.
The Water Club Hotel at Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa has always been a unique feature of our resort, offering up a singularly different type of Atlantic City experience just steps away from the casino, nightlife and dining at Borgata.
The 43-story, $400 million hotel features 800 guestrooms and suites; Immersion, a two-story spa on the 32nd floor, 18,000 square feet of meeting and event space; three Residences modeled after chic, urban lofts; five heated pools – indoor and outdoor, each offering a distinct individuality; and boutique retail shops including Hugo Boss, Just Cavalli and Fixation.
At The Water Club, the emphasis is on relaxation and getting away from it all. So in a very non-stressful way, Borgata is offering another of our new hotel package deals that takes in all that The Water Club has to offer.
You know, sometimes here on the Borgata blog we spend so much time talking about Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa’s great entertainment, fine dining and nightlife, wonderful spas, and great all around amenities that it might seem like we’re overlooking a simple fact – Borgata is a great place to come and play in the casino and then spend the night in a comfortable and luxurious room.

It’s not every day at the Borgata Blog that we get to tell you about another of our new hotel packages at Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa and get to use a great pun.
So let us introduce a great new package designed for comedy lovers we’re calling the Bor-HaHa Hotel Package.
Get it. Borgata … Bor-HaHa.
Ok, maybe we’re using the description “great” pun a little loosely, but it doesn’t change the fact that our new Bor-HaHa Hotel Package is a great deal for fans of stand-up comedy and the Borgata Comedy Club.
Start by sipping cocktails at Long Bar, then laugh out loud with some of the region’s top comics, before slipping into 300-thread-count Egyptian cotton sheets in your signature Borgata bed.
Starting at $129 a night, you get:
Our friends at Atlantic City Weekly name their list of The Top 40 Under 40 each year — a tribute to young executives and community leaders throughout the Atlantic City area.
And once again, Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa is proud to have had one of our brightest young executives – Simon Poglein, Director of Database Marketing for Borgata – named one of the Top 40 for 2016.
Atlantic City Weekly joined forces with the Greater Atlantic City Junior Chamber of Commerce (Jaycees) in 2005 to establish the Top 40 Under 40 — a campaign designed to recognize outstanding volunteerism, community service, cultural enhancement and exceptional work ethics in sectors of society such as business, government, education, healthcare, hospitality and others.
We think Simon embodies those ideals perfectly and are delighted to see him recognized by the community. We had a Q & A with Simon to discuss his being named to the 2016 Top 40 Under 40 List.
Tell us about your background. How did you get to where you are today?
I’m originally from a rural part of Pennsylvania, located about 45 minutes East of Pittsburgh. My college degree, a B.S. in Communications Media, was completed at Indiana University of Pennsylvania in December 2002. Both sides of my family, going back several generations, have traditionally vacationed at the Jersey Shore. During one of those visits, I noticed a billboard for Borgata, advertising employment opportunities to ‘Work Someplace Different.’ I applied, and that is pretty much how my career in gaming began. My initial position was at the My Borgata Center, followed by a subsequent move to marketing. In 2013 I took a marketing position with Isle of Capri Casinos, where I was part of the opening team of Lady Luck Casino Nemacolin in Farmington, Pennsylvania. Within that same year, an opportunity presented itself here at Borgata, and so I made my way back to Atlantic City.
What’s your favorite memory in your professional career at Borgata?
There are so many great memories, it’s hard to name a single favorite! The best memories I have are from those events in which the entire team here at Borgata delivers on a truly special, one of a kind experience for our customers. If I had to name one, Borgata’s Free Throw Basketball tournament held on March 21, 2015 was an event I will never forget. It was the kind of day that makes working at Borgata such a unique and rewarding experience.
