Believe it or not, this winter of 2015 is scheduled to end. On March 20, spring begins, whether or not there’s still snow on the ground or the temperature is stuck in the teens.
And when spring comes, it will finally be time to take a well-deserved break and wash away all the stress and harshness of another winter—not to mention the effects of harsh dry winds, biting cold and all that street salt that’s in the air.
So exactly how do you go about that? Once again Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa has the answer with our perfectly timed Borgata Spa Experience week from March 22 – 27.
It’s a week of specials and special events at Borgata’s spas Toccare and Immersion that has a little something for everyone.
First up, every day of the Borgata Spa Experience from 10am to 5pm will feature special skin analysis and body sampling demonstrations featuring the products and services offered at Borgata’s spas.
Each demonstration also offers up special discounts on spa services.
Check out the event schedule.
Borgata Spa Experience also features a list of specials and treatments starting from $85 at our spas as well as The Salon and The Barbershop.
At Borgata, we know how to welcome spring.
Here’s a look at the Borgata Spa Experience specials:
Chocolate may be the unofficial flavor of February as about a gazillion pounds of it are sold each Valentine’s Day, but what may surprise you is the unseen health effects the old fruit of the cocoa bean can give you.
To quote our buddies at Wikipedia, in general chocolate and cocoa is considered to be a rich source of antioxidants such as procyanidins and flavanoids, which may impart anti-aging properties. Chocolate and cocoa also contain a high level of flavonoids, specifically epicatechin, which may have beneficial cardiovascular effects on health.
Well’ our experts at Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa’s Toccare and Immersion spas knew (Not to mention The Salon and Barbershop). Just check out our spa specials for February.
There’s the Hot Chocolate Wrap with Marshmallows, a Cherries and Chocolate Facial and a Chocolate and Strawberries Pedicure, just to name a few.
Sounds delicious doesn’t it?
Of course, most people think chocolate’s main health effect is that if you eat a lot of it, you gain weight.
Eat it? Hey, we think way too far out of the box at Borgata’s spas to just leave it at that.
Here’s a look at the February Spa Specials at Borgata.
The holidays are great aren’t they?
All that shopping and running around. Decorating everything that doesn’t move. There’s cooking, eating, cooking some more, eating, cooking, eating some more.
There’s the drives to see relatives in 27 different states or the reverse fun of having 71 relatives visit you in your three-bedroom house with two baths.
Then some cooking and eating.
And finally, a massive New Year’s Eve party with cooking and eating and drinking and dancing and eating followed by a day of watching parades and football and then cooking and eating.
Yes, the holidays are great. Sure you gained 15 pounds, you’re a nervous wreck and you haven’t seen the bathroom floor through the wet towels in two weeks, but hey, the holidays are gre … You know what?
You could probably use a break.
At Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa, we know that even as our guests take in all we have to offer from great nightlife and dining to the best casino action on the East Coast, some of our guests just want to work.
And we’re not talking about their jobs.
We’re talking about working your abs, your cardio system, your lats and everything else gym rats love to work. So at Spa Toccarre, Borgata provides guests with The Pump Room, a state-of-the-art hi-tech fitness center that offers the best workout you’ll find, the best fitness equipment available and the best overall experience complete with spectacular views of Atlantic City.
And if that’s not enough, we’re about to make The Pump Room better.
The Pump Room will be closed from December 1 to December 12 as it receives a major upgrade that will include installation of all new cardio equipment (from Life Fitness), a new stretching station and more. The upgrade replaces much of The Pump Room’s original equipment form its opening 11 years ago.
And that’s not even mentioning a complete redecorating with new wall coverings, carpets and ceiling tiles.
Here’s a look at what we’re adding to The Pump Room.
There was a time, back in the olden days, when a trip to a “spa” basically meant taking a bath in hot mineral water.
Soothing? Yes. Relaxing? Yes. Much more of an experience than simply taking a hot bath? Not really.
Oh those silly people of olden days. How little they knew about the spa experience.
At Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa (again we point out that Spa is in our name) the spa experience is so much more than sitting in a hot pool out in the desert somewhere.
We exfoliate, massage, pamper, moisturize, rehydrate, decrease stress, repair skin damage, increase circulation and so much more. And yes, we have pools.
We have so much going on in our spas and facilities—Spa Toccare, Immersion Spa, The Salon and The Barbershop—that we’ve set aside an entire week we’re dubbing the Borgata Spa Experience from October 19-24.
Look for specials and a series of spa events (make-up demonstrations, skin analysis, etc.) all week long.
Ah October. It’s the season of the pumpkin and their friendly orange glow is everywhere.
They’re on our porches, in our window displays and gathered in bunches at road-side stands. And they’re mild fall flavor is spicing up everything from pies to our double latte grandes.
And, of course, they make for a great facial.
Yes, you read right—a great facial.
Pumpkins, it turns out, are really, really good for you. They’re filled with vitamin A, E and C and loaded with powerful enzymes that help cleanse the skin. As a matter of fact, that whole orange glow thing comes from carotenoids, wrinkle-fighting plant pigments that help neutralize free radicals in the skin, keeping them from damaging the cells that fast-forward aging.
Plus, pumpkin has hydrating properties and are a good source of fiber.
But back to the benefits for your skin, something we at Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa know only too well at Spa Toccare and Immersion Spa. Our October spa specials feature a healthy dose of this seasonal treat, not because it’s seasonally trendy—you can get that effect just with a couple of jack o’ lanterns—but because pumpkin is a skin-cleansing, wrinkle-fighting dynamo.
It’s September and the fall season is upon us. And after a long summer of sunbathing, swimming, partying and being outdoors, you need some rejuvenating and healing relief.
Not you personally, necessarily. After all, a long summer of sunbathing, swimming, partying and being outdoors has hopefully left you feeling pretty good—unless you’re doing it wrong.
No, we’re talking about your body, skin and your aching muscles. All that harsh sun, saltwater, exercise and double beef shish kabobs off the barbecue can take their toll. Not to mention driving the kids to their 1,001 summer activities.
No, its your body that needs the break.
Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa is here to help with our fall spa specials at Spa Toccare and Immersion Spa.
All of them are designed to strip away the effects of a summer in the sun and some of the tension that comes with the most active time of the year.
We’ve all seen wine aficionados going through their routine as they sample their classic wines.
You know—the swirl in the glass to check the color, the sniffing of the bouquet, the swishing of the wine in the mouth to pick up its accents and flavors.
It’s one of the great joys of wine selection and part of the education Vintage Wine Boutique at The Shoppes at The Water Club has always given would-be wine connoisseurs.
As for beer drinkers, well, that’s a little different right? The main taste element is whether it’s cold; it’s hard to see the color and sniff the bouquet from a can isn’t it?
Au contraire, mon amie.
At Vintage, we take beer as seriously as we take our classic selection of wines. And so we’re introducing a new line of craft beers guaranteed to turn any beer drinker into a connoisseur of the hops. These are beers so finely crafted, they stand up to scrutiny as well as any fine wine.
A lot of us that enjoy a casual glass of wine now and then know that there’s a lot more to the taste of the grape than we’ve taken in so far.
We hear our friends talking about bouquets and body and aftertastes and pairing with cuisine, but for us it’s pretty much red goes with meat, white with fish and sweeter wines can go with dessert.
And then we pick up a bottle of plonk because we like the picture on the bottle (that’s right, we went there with plonk).
But this doesn’t have to be you anymore. Vintage Wine Boutique at The Water Club is putting an educational twist on wine this summer with The Wine Classroom, a series of wine classes that takes an international trip around the wine drinking world. Discover a world of wine with Borgata’s wine professionals, learn about wine pairings and sample some exceptional varietals (Ha, varietals, we’re already learning).
Most fruits are good. Some are very good and some … well, they are simply super.
Yes, nutritionists and doctors will tell you that not all fruit is created equal. Certain fruits are so chocked full of antioxidants, fiber, vitamins and minerals, and other nutrients that they can help you live longer, look better and even prevent disease.
And they’ve been dubbed the super fruits.
These special fruits boost immune systems and energy and many have a profound effect on the skin and counter the effects of aging.
