We have to admit that here at Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa, we get a little crazy about the Fourth of July.
It is the perfect summer holiday and when you’re in Atlantic City at the Jersey shore, well, that makes it the perfect holiday period. And when Fourth of July happens on the weekend—it’s a Saturday this year—and considering that every summer weekend is a party at Borgata … well, that’s just more perfect.
How can something be more perfect? Well, check out this lineup for Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa’s Fourth of July celebration this year.
We start with Meghan Trainor at Festival Park on July 3, offer up the best view for the traditional 4th of July Marina Fireworks Show (again from Festival Park) on July 4 and finish it off with … well, a bunch of stuff from a full entertainment schedule at Borgata’s Nightclubs to great promotions in our casino.
Of course, fireworks are the first thing people think of for the 4th, and our new outdoor venue at Festival Park is the perfect place to view this year’s show.
Atlantic City is putting on two shows this year, with a Boardwalk show July 3 and a marina show July 4.
These unique and brilliant fireworks shows are being created by one of the country’s largest fireworks companies, Pyro Spectaculars by Souza, the presenter of pyrotechnic displays and shows around the world including the Macy’s 4th of July Spectacular in New York City.
There’s something cool about the fact that this year Father’s Day and the first day of summer—aka the summer solstice—fall on the same day this year.
After all, it’s appropriate to take the longest day of the year to really honor Dad, who is always there for us with his gentle wisdom, his infinite patience and his never-ending support.
And for those of you who don’t live in a 1950s family sitcom, he’s the one yelling at you to stop texting all the time and keeps filling up the DVR with John Wayne movies.
Yes, you got to love Dad. It takes a long day to really honor dad.
Of course we at Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa are going a step further and taking the whole weekend from June 19-21 to honor dad with a line-up of promotions and events that will just make your father sit up and take notice and possibly, finally come out of the bathroom.
But since it’s also the start of another summer season in Atlantic City—and you know how we love summer here at Borgata— the weekend is just doubly blessed. Not only can Dad try out his latest socks and sandals combos, he can also check out Borgata’s new outdoor venue at Festival Park, featuring The Killers, or see Huey Lewis and The News in the Borgata Event Center.
Atlantic City regulars have made Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa the number 1 casino hotel destination in the area since 2003. And it’s easy to figure out why. With Borgata’s headliner shows, great nightlife, first class dining, casino and poker room, how could anyone doubt it would become the leader in Atlantic City?
But Atlantic City insiders also know that it was in 2007 when Borgata truly became a complete destination with the opening of The Water Club Hotel.
Just check out the amenities at The Water Club, which completed the $600 million master plan for Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa.
The 43-story, $400 million hotel features 800 guestrooms and suites; Immersion, a two-story spa on the 32nd floor, 18,000 square feet of meeting and event space; three Residences modeled after chic, urban lofts; five heated pools – indoor and outdoor, each offering a distinct experience; and boutique retail shops including Hugo Boss, Just Cavalli and Fixation, while offering direct access to and from Borgata Hotel Casino and Spa.
That’s straight out of the brochure, but anyone who regularly stays at The Water Club will tell you there’s so much more to the experience than a simple list can convey. In a word, it’s elegance.
The Water Club offers two room styles—the Vista Room and the Club Room.
Check out this resume for a Vista room:
Spring is finally upon us here in Atlantic City and Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa, and it couldn’t have arrived a moment too soon.
It’s been a long hard winter and now it’s time to celebrate. And not just the season, but all that spring stands for—rebirth, rejuvenation, renewal, resurrection and regrowth. Call it the five R’s.
You’ll see a lot of posts on the Borgata Blog in the next few months about spring celebrations at Borgata, from spa specials to the Borgata Spring Poker Open and more.
Because nothing says spring like great casino action, fine dining and good stand-up comedy.
Don’t believe us? Then just take a look at Borgata’s special Spring Escape Package running from now until June 25.
Overnight stay in a Classic Room at Borgata.
$100 Dining Credit valid at Borgata’s dining outlets.
Two tickets to the Comedy Club at The Music Box.
All for $199 a night, available Sunday – Thursday. Call (609) 317-1000 to book your package.
There’s a reason we call this the Spring Escape Package. Nothing beats getting away from your cold, day-to-day routine, and having a few laughs—and thrills—with that special someone.
That’s what we call rejuvenation. It’s also spring at Borgata.
February was always a big month for George and Martha Washington as well as Abe and Mary Todd Lincoln, what with Valentine’s Day and George and Abe’s birthday both being in February.
And so, the Washingtons and Lincolns partied down in February. George and Martha would give each other colonial-era-appropriate gifts like molasses candies (in heart-shape boxes) and some nice wood varnish for George’s oral hygiene (you know, wooden teeth.) Then they’d have cherry pie.
Abe would give Mary agita and she famously gave him little wood log pieces he could make toy log cabins out of, hence the birth of Lincoln logs. Then they’d pitch pennies, which was like throwing little Lincoln commemorative medallions around.
Now, of course, it’s entirely possible that none of this really happened—because we totally just made it up—but the point is when February lines-up Valentine’s Day and Presidents’ Day together on the calendar, it’s time to party.
And nobody does holiday weekend parties like Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa, where this year we get to combine both our romantic Valentine’s offerings with the star-packed entertainment and promotions of another Presidents’ Day Weekend in Atlantic City.
From Friday, February 13 to Monday, February 16, Borgata has something for everyone.
As Valentine’s Day approaches on February 14, thoughts of how to stage the perfect date for a significant other fills the heads of boyfriends and husbands as well as partners, wives and girlfriends.
OK, for many of the boyfriends and husbands, this will happen on February 13, or maybe even Valentine’s Day morning. For others—capable of planning ahead—busy schedules could throw up a roadblock.
Either way, a lot of Valentine’s dates are going to end up being a dinner at a chain restaurant with a seven-hour wait—or maybe just a bucket of chicken (Do they make heart-shaped chicken nuggets?)—followed by watching Love Actually (or some equally appropriate rom-com) on DVD.
And how about if you’re single? Another Valentine’s Day with Ben & Jerry may be on the horizon.
It doesn’t have to be this way, not with Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa around. We’re announcing our February Hotel Packages and, as you’ll see, they are designed for romance and partying (Valentine’s day is on a Saturday this year, after all). So let us do the planning for you.
For Valentine’s Day, we’re offering a special package we’ve dubbed Single & Fabulous, designed for those who see Valentine ’s Day as a good excuse to get the crew together and go clubbing (as if there’s a bad excuse). It’s always better to face the day with friends, especially at Borgata Nightlife’s happening clubs.
The first winter storm has hit the East in 2015 and, as you’d expect, it led to some pretty predictable problems.
There was a lot of shoveling, salting and sliding on the roads going on, not to mention more than a few fender benders. There was also a lot of bundling up, but still freezing anyway.
People are sneezing, sniffling and coughing and we’ve all been reminded of that horrible seasonal visitor called the wind chill factor. That’s when a slight breeze makes it feel like you’re standing on the North Pole.
There’s ice on the windows, the sidewalks and sometimes it feels like its in your very soul.
And the worst part? Only two and a half more months to go.
Let’s face it, at some point we all need to escape winter’s grip, even if for just one night. And there’s no better place to spend that night than Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa.
Borgata offers up a special winter escape package Sundays through Thursdays designed to beat back the winter blahs.
Staring at $169 a night, you get an overnight stay in a classic room at Borgata, a $100 Dining Credit, two tickets to the Comedy Club at the Music Box and complimentary in room WiFi.
Holiday shopping can be a hectic thing, what with the traffic, the crowds, trying to find a parking spot in the same area code as the store you wanted to visit and so on. And who doesn’t love 78 consecutive hours of canned mall Christmas music? (2,700 versions of “Jingle Bells” and counting.)
At this point, you’re probably thinking that we at the Borgata Blog are about to plug a nice little getaway to Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa for a relaxing, stress-free, pre-holiday break. Which is great—especially if you take advantage of our monthly spa specials.
But there’s an even easier way to allow Borgata to take some of the crazy out of holiday shopping. And that’s to Shop Borgata from home at our online store. And from now to December 28, ShopBorgata.com is offering a holiday sale or 25 percent off on all items.
That includes all of ShopBorgata.com’s category’s from the Gifts of Comfort (bedding, blankets, sheets), to items for the Spa Connoisseur (robes, aromatherapy) to gifts for the Foodie (cookbooks, margarita glasses, aprons).
It’s an impressive list of online items at great prices that you can check out here.
Did you ever think about the simple concept of the wish? You want something so you wish for it. No big deal right?
Wrong. The whole concept of the wish has dominated literature, fairy tales and folklore since the first caveman wished for a sharper rock to cut his mammoth steak.
We make wishes by throwing coins into wells and fountains or by blowing out birthday candles. We make a wish when we see a shooting star, or just the first star of the night. In fiction we’ve dreamed up genies to give out three wishes or a host of magical items to wish upon.
And some of us just out muscled some poor family member to snap the big end of the Thanksgiving turkey’s wishbone.
Well, we at Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa love wishes too. So much, in fact, that we’ve created the Wish List Sweepstakes on our Borgata Facebook Page.
Each week we’ll give you, our Facebook friends, the chance to choose between three different prizes in the Wish List Sweepstakes. It’s sort of a twist on the three wishes as voter’s choose from three prizes on the wish list.
