The Borgata Summer Poker Open is marching on towards Saturday’s (June 21) start of the $500,000 guaranteed Borgata Summer Poker Open Championship.
And one grinder who’ll be in the field will be Jack Chow of Clarksburg, Maryland who has won Borgata’s online Sweepstakes for a seat at the championship. That’s a $2,000 buy-in (plus $200) for Chow courtesy of the Borgata Poker Room.
Meanwhile, Borgata Summer Poker Open events keep crowning winners and you can follow all the action on our live tournament blog.
For the Borgata Poker Room, that kind of money is all in a day’s work … Or make that two days.
The first hit came June 11 at 12:30pm as the Borgata Bad Beat Frenzy hit yet again for $50,000. The hit came on a 3/6 Hold’em table when Thelma Young’s Aces full of Jacks lost to Frank Ciulla’s four jacks.
The 2014 Borgata Summer Poker Open is cementing its status as the East Coast alternative to the World Series of Poker, as it once again sets new Borgata records for players.
Event 1 of the Summer Poker Open, a $350 buy-in Deep Stack No limit Hold’em tournament brought out 1,436 entries, breaking the 2013 Borgata Summer Poker Open record of 1,383 entries.
That created a total buy-in of $487,522, easily smoking the event’s $300,000 prize-pool guarantee.
Day 2 of the event—after three separate opening sessions—saw 275 players advance and compete for the first place cash of $101,401. The event pays off the top 140 finishers.
So if you’re a loyal grinder you probably have a lot of questions. You know, like “What’s the tournament schedule?” “When are the satellites?” “How can I follow all the action?”
Well, check this out—our new Borgata Summer Poker Open micro-site. It’s basically everything you would want to know about the Borgata Summer Poker Open from schedules and results to links to our live tournament blog.

The Borgata Bad Beat Jackpot has hit for $221,518. The hit came at 1pm May 29 at a $1/$2/No Limit table in the Borgata Poker Room. Famed comedian and actor George Burns won the bad beat when his straight flush of hearts, three to the seven, was tripped up by Larry Small’s heart straight flush […]
You can never be completely sure when a poker celeb is going to show up in the Borgata Poker Room. From James Woods to Brad Garrett and Michael Phelps—not to mention virtually every poker pro you’ve ever heard of—celebs have always been seen in the poker room grinding away.
But here’s a chance to know when the celebs will be there as former NFL’er Boomer Esiason and Craig Carton of WFAN sports radio in New York host the WFAN $20,000 Guaranteed Tournament June 6 starting at 11am in the Borgata Poker Room.
The Re-entry, No-limit Hold’em tournament carries a $300 + $40 buy-in and starts players with 20K in chips. Antes kick in at Level 5 and levels last 30 minutes. Get structure here.
On-Site Registration begins Friday, June 6 from 9am until the end of Level 6. Re-entries are allowed through Level 6.
Online registration for the Borgata Summer Poker Open, is now open and for most Borgata grinders, it’s about time.
After all, it’s been, like, three weeks since the Borgata Spring Poker Open ended and people have been getting a little antsy.
The summer open offers up 19 main events including a combined $1.1 million in guaranteed prize pools over its 18-day run.
The opening event—always the biggest field, so online reservations are recommended—is a $300,000 guaranteed, $350 + $50 Deep Stack No Limit Tournament that kicks off June 10. The tournament has three opening sessions with one on June 10 at 11am and two on June 11 at 10am and 8pm respectively.
Big news at BorgataPoker.com. This Sunday, May 18, we’ve decided to double the prize pool of our Sunday $50K Guarantee. For the same standard $200 buy-in, you’ll get to play for a piece of at least $100,000. That guarantee could climb even higher if more players show up to fight for it.
We’ll shuffle up and deal at 5pm, so register early if you want a seat. But you don’t need to shell out the entire $200 to reserve your spot. Qualifiers run leading up to it for just a few bucks, so it’s easy to feed your way into it. No matter how many players take a seat, we’ll make sure the final prize pool is at least $100,000. And it could grow even higher, so if you love poker, register now.
Why are more and more people choosing BorgataCasino.com and BorgataPoker.com than any other regulated New Jersey gambling site? Maybe our player-focused, rewarding promotions have something to do with it. Maybe it’s the fact that we don’t add confusing terms and conditions to our promos or tangle them with all kinds of hoops to jump through.
Maybe it’s the fact that we’re the only online casino in New jersey with 1x wager requirements. Or maybe it’s because really big casino jackpots keep getting popped (we’re talking six figures). Or that our poker guarantees always exceed expectations.
There are tons of reasons why Borgata is a top choice for online gaming in New Jersey. But this month is extra special, just like Mom (we’ve even got a couple things lined up for her). Here’s a look at what we’ve done and what we’re doing to make every second of your online experience more rewarding.
May is shaping up to be a huge month for tournament events in the Borgata Poker Room. Or should we say a deep month, as in deep stacks?
All grinders like to see a big stack of chips in front of them, especially at the start of a tournament (and even more so at the end of a tournament).
Well, next week, starting Monday, May 12, your greatest deep-stack dreams will be answered as Borgata presents a six-day, Deep Stacks Challenge. That’s six days of deep stacks (25,000 in tournament chips), deeper stacks (35,000 in chips) and deepest stacks (40,000 in chips).
