Looking for a unique way to celebrate Valentine’s Day with a loved one? Have a few friends that need a good laugh! Your favorite gossip-dishing diva is heading to Borgata for one-night only on February 17. Kathy Griffin will be at our Event Center and you’re invited to take part in the laugh-out-loud comedy celebration.
If you’re looking for a reason to unwind, relax, and perhaps have a little fun in the process, look no further than Borgata where we offer something for just about everyone, including ways to indulge and get your party on. We are, after all, the East Coast’s preeminent entertainment, dining, and resort destination. Need more motivation? Here are some of the top reasons to plan an escape to Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa.
Rob Thomas, the Grammy award-winning frontman and composer for Matchbox Twenty, will be showing off his personal side this January at Borgata’s Music Box. The celebrated performer plays three intimate shows on January 13 through 15, which will feature his signature solo vocals and style that fans have come to know and love.
There was a point during the stand-up performance of comedian Steven Wright – who played the Borgata Music Box Friday Nov. 4 – when virtually everyone in the near-capacity crowd came to the same conclusion.
Steven Wright is insane.
Not clinically, of course, but hilariously insane. And it wasn’t just that he kept telling the crowd he was. Listening to Wright’s barrage of one-liners mixed in with strange – sometimes very strange – stories, the conclusion was inescapable. He is crazy funny.
You know Wright for his lethargic, deadpan delivery of ironic, sometimes philosophical one liners.
Since first bursting onto the punk scene in the 1970’s, Elvis Costello has been making music for nearly 50 years. That may seem like simple fact, but it took on a special relevance for the large crowd that saw Costello play Saturday at the Borgata Event Center.
Recently, Costello, now 62, has been drawing on a song catalog that has gained him distinction as one of the best songwriters of the last 50 years for a series of solo dates he dubbed a “Detour.” In that vein, Costello used his Borgata Event Center appearance to launch a two-week set of dates with his band the Imposters dubbed “The Imperial Bedroom & Other Chambers Tour,” highlighting his 1982 album Imperial Bedroom.
For an enthusiastic Borgata crowd, it was chance to see Costello’s emotional and deepest songwriting at his best, interspersed with just enough go-to hits to keep the crowd singing along.
It doesn’t matter if you’re a good witch or a bad one: the East Coast’s premiere LGBT resort destination has plenty of tricks and treats for your Halloween celebration. Whether it’s cheering on your favorite drag superstars to dancing the night away in our new state-of-the-art nightclub, OUT at Borgata has a way to make your favorite fall holiday a memorable one.
There was definitely a sense that it wasn’t your typical Saturday night at Borgata on September 24. At the top of The Event Center escalators was a man, wearing a feather boa, waving two giant light-up rainbow scepters, greeting guests as they arrived for the 2016 Miss’d America Pageant.
The annual event, which has honored all things gay at the South Jersey shore since 1991, has raised over $300,000 for LGBT charities in the Greater Atlantic City region, and you can easily see why: the night brought out hundreds of loyal audience members of all ages, sexes, orientations, and races. It was something people looked forward to all year long. As I entered The Event Center, a group of older women were in line ahead of me. One of them turned around and said, “This is better than seeing male strippers. I have more fun doing this!”
Jose Feliciano, who will play the Borgata Music Box December 17, has had a long and varied career and is widely considered the first Latin artist to make the crossover to the English music market. He’s also one of the greatest pop guitarists of all time, being called “the Picasso of his realm.”
He’s been awarded more than 45 Gold and Platinum records and has won 19 Grammy nominations, earning nine Grammy Awards, including the “LARAS Award for Lifetime Achievement.
And yet, when December rolls around, Jose Feliciano becomes synonymous with one simple phrase “Feliz Navidad.” His 1970 bilingual Christmas tune has become as much a part of the holidays as “Santa Claus is Coming to Town” or “Silent Night.”
Miss’d America has come a long way from it’s humble beginnings where the winner would literally get a Burger King crown and a dozen of dead roses wrapped in yesterday’s Press. The highly-anticipated drag show extravaganza returns to Borgata on September 24, 2016, and there’s more glitz and glam than you can shake a sequined gown at…plus you can win a free stay at The Water Club and tickets to the show!
Comedian Jim Gaffigan may seem like he’s everywhere these days. He stars in a series of pretty funny commercials for Chrysler, was one of the revolving Colonel Sanders in KFC’s ongoing ad campaign and just completed a run of the second season of “The Jim Gaffigan Show” on TV Land.
But despite all this TV, when Gaffigan rolled his Fully Dressed Tour into the Borgata Event Center Saturday for two shows, it was pretty evident what got Gaffigan to where he is – namely killer stand-up. Playing before two packed houses, Gaffigan unleashed a solid hour of wide ranging stand-up which covered everything from the changing seasons, the differences between ordering steak and fish (guess which one Gaffigan prefers) to travelling with his kids…
