The Borgata Bad Beat Jackpot has paid out its first full hit of 2014—good for a whopping $540,747.
The hit came Monday, March 31 at 9:49am at a $1-$2 No Limit table. Ah, those lucky AM grinders.
Player Jun J. Qiu saw a heart straight flush, deuce to six fall to Hallee J. Lograsso’s heart straight flush, four to the eight.
Isn’t that always the way with low straight flushes? Well, not really. That’s why it’s called a bad beat.
Still, Qui took home $216,306 and Lograsso, the hand winner, won $108,151.
Six other players at the table won $36,050 apiece. So that’s not really bad at all.
The full jackpot reset to $158,250 and the small bad beat jackpot is at $39,562.
The Borgata Bad Beat Jackpot has now paid $690,757 in 2014 on four hits—three of which were Small Bad Beat jackpot hits of $50K.
Remember, the full jackpot is paid when quads 10s of better is beaten—like in this case when a straight flush was beaten—and the small bad beat jackpot is paid when quad deuces to nines is beaten.
In 2013, the Borgata Bad Beat Jackpot hit for better than $500K three times. Things are back on pace in the Borgata Poker Room for 2014.
