Happy National Beer Day everybody.
What? You didn’t know about National Beer Day? (Or maybe you think every day is National Beer Day.)
Well, it’s true. Today, April 7 is recognized by beer enthusiasts as National Beer Day. And it’s not as unofficial as you might think.
National Beer Day dates back to the end of Prohibition. The day celebrates the anniversary of the Cullen–Harrison Act being signed into law by President Franklin D. Roosevelt on March 22, 1933. That law went into effect on April 7, allowing people to buy sell and drink beer again after 13 long years.
That’s right. People couldn’t legally buy a beer for 13 years.
Of course, Prohibition is long gone now and for beer enthusiasts, April 7 is a good day to try some of their favorite brews and maybe even experiment with some different brands.
And we think the Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa is the perfect place to spend National Beer Day. After all, we have more than a dozen different bars at Borgata led by our most popular bar for beer, the appropriately named B-Bar.
B-Bar serves 47 different types of beer (Corona being the most popular) and serves 7,739 cases of beer and 579 kegs. Check out the drink menu here.
But most of Borgata’s bars offer up a great selection of beers usually including Amstel Light, Corona, Heineken, Heineken Light, Negra Modelo, Sapporo, and Tsing Tao with beers like Boddington’s Pub Ale, Guinness, Stella Artois and JWDundee’s HoneyBrown on tap.
And that’s before bars like B-Bar even get fancy about it.
Of course, Borgata aims to please and our lounges and bars—such as the Wine Bar at Old Homestead and the Izakaya Sake Bar, for example—offer up the best wine and drink menus in Atlantic City for those not so beer crazy.
But then who isn’t beer crazy on National Beer Day?
And let’s face it, the Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa is a good place to celebrate anything. So National Beer Day? Let the party begin (with special thanks to FDR).
