By non-Borgata Open month, we mean a month that doesn’t include one of Borgata’s five seasonal open events such as the Borgata Poker Open scheduled for September 2-19.
Grinders getting ready for that event will have plenty of chances to sharpen their tournament skills in August.
First up are a series of summer tournaments on Sundays, which we’ve cleverly dubbed Sundays in August. A mix of four different tournaments will be offered at noon each Sunday during the month.
H.O.R.S.E. – Sun. 8/3 – 12PM – $200 + $30 buy-in
NLH/PLO HIGH ONLY (RE-ENTRY) – Sun. 8/10 – 12PM – $200 + $30 buy-in
OE 8B – Sun. 8/24 – 12PM – $200 + $30 buy-in
PLO HIGH ONLY (RE-ENTRY) – Sun. 8/31 – 12PM – $200 + $30 buy-in.
Yes, seven opening sessions. Though the tournament is not a best stack forward tournament, players can re-enter each opening day and through level eight of each opening session if they bust out.
Players start with 20K in chips. Here’s the full schedule.
Also, check back with BorgataPoker.com for an announcement on online satellites for this event.
This year, the $250 + $30 + $20 tournament (the extra $20 benefits the food bank) will award a $3,500 entry into the $3 million guaranteed Borgata Open Championship event September 14 – 20 to the tournament winner.
Again, check back with BorgataPoker.com for an announcement on online satellites for this event.
The $1,000 + $80 tournament will award one in 10 players with a $10,000 prize package (for example, if 100 players buy-in, 10 prize packages will be awarded to the top finishers).
The prize package includes:
$3,500 Entry into WPT World Championship ($3 Million Guaranteed)
$560 Entry into Borgata Poker Open Opening Event ($2 Million Guaranteed)
And you thought we took things slow here at the shore in August. Not at Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa.
