Borgata proved why New York City is often called the city that never sleeps. To celebrate the conclusion of their action-packed two day Savor Borgata Weekend, the resort turned their Event Center into a bustling Manhattan street festival, complete with a dancing Statue of Liberty and a replica of the Empire State Building made out of chocolate.
Hundreds of guests attended the annual celebration of everything culinary at Borgata, which featured the property’s celebrity chefs preparing some of their signature dishes for hungry diners. Wolfgang Puck, Geoffrey Zakarian, and Michael Schulson greeted fans and took pictures in-between plating their goods. The event also featured The Chew‘s Michael Symon (whose new restaurant Angeline will join Borgata’s roster of signature fine dining restaurants), serving arancini and doing a cooking demo on The Event Center stage.
In addition to the celebrity chefs in attendance, there were plenty of other epicurean delights, including a station full of delicious desserts created by Borgata’s Executive Pastry Chef – and former White House Pastry Chef – Thaddeus DuBois, an espresso martini bar, an edible display of cheeses from around the globe, and a tent full of wine and beer. The live entertainment was right out of the Big Apple and featured plenty of cover bands, dancers, magicians
, portrait artists, fortune tellers, and even a barely dressed cowboy (also, Pikachu and the Minions were providing plenty of photo opps).
Guests were able to cast their vote for their favorite dish from the dozens of food stations at the event. Old Homestead‘s Dagwood Sandwich with Prime Short Rib, Vermont Goat Cheese, Pickled Radish, and Pablano Cream took top honors, but you could argue that the real winner of the evening was everyone’s taste buds after enjoying so many amazing dishes.
