Congrats are in order to Liza Costandino, Borgata’s Director of Communications, and Kate Warden, Chief Humane Law Enforcement Officer for Atlantic County SPCA and security specialist at Borgata, who have both been named to Atlantic City Weekly’s “40 Under 40” List. The awards, which are a collaborative effort between the Greater Atlantic City Junior Chamber of Commerce and AC Weekly, celebrate those in the community who have succeeded in charity work, cultural enhancement, and volunteerism.
Costandino, 30, oversees public relations at Borgata, encompassing media communication, strategic partnerships, and special events. Liza is a life-long Atlantic County resident and a graduate of Mainland Regional High School. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from Penn State University and has assisted Borgata in a variety of initiatives during her career on the property. She played an integral part in the openings of the $200 million property expansion in 2006 as well as the Water Club hotel in 2008. Recently, Costandino championed the property’s OUT at Borgata program, which supports LGBT inclusiveness through a variety of initiatives. Under her leadership, Borgata has worked with the Greater Atlantic City GLBT Alliance, the Independence Business Alliance, and the International Gay and Lesbian Travel Association to create strategic partnerships that enhanced the resort’s commitment to diversity. As a result, Borgata received a perfect score on the Human Rights Campaign’s 2016 and 2017 Corporate Equality Index, and is recognized as one of the “Best Places to Work for LGBT Equality.”
In addition to investigating complaints of animal cruelty, Warden coordinates fundraisers and community outreach events for Atlantic County SPCA. Her passion for animals and community involvement extends beyond her career, as she volunteers with Atlantic County Disaster Response Team, Atlantic County Hoarding Task Force and Wildlife Aid. Warden’s most notable achievements include writing an Extreme Weather Ordinance for animals that was endorsed by Atlantic County Board of Chosen Freeholders, creating and hosting a goal workshop for women, and acting as mentor to Girl Scouts in Troop 42422. Warden resides in Egg Harbor Township, where she is proud to support her daughter’s endeavors in cheer, theatre, and the Medical Science Academy
Costandino, Warden, and the rest of the “40 Under 40” winners will be celebrated at Borgata’s Event Center on Friday, March 24 during a private invitation-only party. Congrats to Liza, Kate, and all of this year’s honorees!
