Amateur yogis have no doubt have heard about balancing “chi,” but what exactly does that mean?  In simple terms, “chi” translates to “that which gives life.”  In other words, chi is the life force and  the difference between a living, breathing human being and a corpse.

However, with all of the environmental and emotional stressors of the modern world, one’s chi can easily become misbalanced. The Bali Chi Ritual is just that, a series of treatments and therapies that holistically combine to create a renewed sense of well-being. The experience starts with a private foot soak in warm water with coconut and vanilla oil.  After several minutes, the therapist completes a foot scrub using a vanilla and coffee scrub.  Afterwards, Tingsha chimes are played to indicate the start of the massage portion of the ritual.

Next comes a Balinese-style massage, which is extremely different from both a traditional Swedish treatment or a deep tissue massage.  The massage is a highly choreographed pattern of rhythmic techniques to both relax and reenergize different parts of the body. Part of the massage is done dry, and includes skin-lifting and pressure point therapies.  The other part of the massage uses coconut and vanilla oil in a more sweeping fashion.  The result is that the body feels refreshed and renewed.

Another sound of Tingsha chimes indicate that the final ritual is about to begin, which is a rigorous back scrub using coconut exfoliators.  After removing the scrub, the Signature Bali Chi Ritual is complete, and, hopefully, one’s chi has reached a balanced, reset state.
