A taste of Southern Europe was as easy as heading to Borgata’s Marketplace during Savor Borgata weekend. Chef Luca Bizzari prepared five small plates paired with wine during a special event that highlighted the cuisine of Greece and Italy. A Taste of the Mediterranean presented Chef Luca’s carefully curated dishes, that whisked diners away to a sun-soaked vacation, without leaving Atlantic City!
Guests were greeted by smiling faces at the Marketplace Wine Bar, complete with a glass of the establishment’s namesake beverage. To start, diners enjoyed a Farro Salad with Cauliflower Almondine, infused with Greek flavors like feta, Kalamata olives, and sun-dried tomatoes, paired with Masi Rose. Then, a Creamy Pumpkin Soup was served with Tommassi Ripasso.
A seasonal Pappardelle with Vegetables and Saffron was paired with Gradis’ciutta Collio Pinot Grigrio. Then, Bucci Verdicchio or Caparzo Rosso Di Montalcino was served with a Potato and Parmesan crusted Red Snapper. Finally, homemade Vanilla Gelato with Poached Peaches topped off the decadent meal, complete with Michele Chiarlo Nivole Mascato d’Asti.
The evening highlighted the versatility of The Marketplace Wine Bar, and earned the establishment plenty of new fans. Who knew that an enjoyable trip to the Mediterranean could be complete within two hours, all without boarding an airplane?
