Back to school time packs a hefty price tag for parents and guardians: all of the backpacks, notebooks, and lunchtime treats really add up.  However, imagine not having the means or the resources to assist a child going back to school?  That’s where Borgata team members stepped in.

Borgata team members stuffed 500 backpacks with school supplies for local children in need.  Students will start the school year with a new backpack, notebooks, folders, pens and pencils, crayons, pencil pouches, erasers and rulers.  Backpacks will be distributed to students through ten local nonprofit agencies.  Also, over 200 backpacks were stuffed with dry food items – both backpacks and food items were all donated by team members.

The new “back to school” kits were delivered to a number of organizations, including Egg Harbor City Community School, CASA, Stockton Center for Community Engagement, Community FoodBank of NJ, Caring for Kids, Hendrick’s House Group / Hansen House for Women, Family Success Centers, St. James AME – Youth Explosion, Summer Feeding – AtlantiCare Healthplex, and United Way. Borgata is excited to welcome the newest member of the MGM Resorts Family to the East Coast!  MGM Springfield will open its doors on August 24, and is New England’s first integrated luxury resort.

Settled in 14 acres within three downtown city blocks, MGM Springfield incorporates an inside-out design, which integrates the hotel into the surrounding urban landscape while preserving the town’s iconic architecture.  MGM Springfield features an open-air entertainment place, which will present live events, local artisans, farmers markets, and seasonal programming, including a skating rink.

The 125,000-square-foot gaming floor is the largest in Massachusetts, and includes 2,550 slot machines, 120 table games, a poker room, and high-limit VIP gaming.  The resort also features 42,500 square feet of meeting space, and the first-ever apparel boutique from Indian Motorcycle, the Springfield-born pioneer of the American motorcycle industry.  Also a highlight is the 8,000-seat MassMutual Center, the official venue for entertainment and large-scale conventions. The resort also features a Topgolf Swing Suite, filled with immersive virtual games in a comfortable lounge.

Foodies will enjoy Cal Mare, conceived by James Beard Award-winning Chef Michael Mina.  The restaurant will feature coastal Italian cuisine with East Coast ingredients, including handmade pastas and brick-oven pizzas.  The Chandler Steakhouse is helmed by Hell’s Kitchen season 14 weinner, Meghan Gill, and features 100% Midwest Angus beef dry-aged for 21 days.

Singer, songwriter, musician, and producer Stevie Wonder is bringing “The Stevie Wonder Song Party: A Celebration of Life, Love & Music,” a limited engagement concert series, to Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa in Atlantic City this August 25 and 26, 2018. “The Song Party” will take place at The Event Center, where fans will enjoy an immersive, participatory concert full of their favorite Stevie Wonder songs.  The legendary performer has been celebrating his popular songbook for years, and we rounded up his top five biggest Billboard Hot 100 hits just in time for this Borgata appearance!

The Countess Has Arrived! Luann De Lesseps Comes to Borgata

You may remember this music video for “Chic, C’est La Vie” by Countess Luann that was shot throughout Borgata:

Now, the Countess returns to Borgata for an exclusive one night only cabaret aptly titled Luann De Lesseps: Countess and Friends.  The evening of song and plenty of special guests will take place on August 24 at The Music Box starting at 9PM.

The Real Housewives of New York City star has teamed up with Broadway’s Billy Stritch and Ben Rimalower to present an evening of signature songs, music, and fun.  De Lesseps previously presented her “Countess Cabaret” at Feinstein’s/54 Below in New York, where she received rave reviews.  E! Network said the cabaret  was filled with “hilarious stories, unique anecdotes and even some pop songs in her signature style,” and Vanity Fair wrote that the Countess was a “VISION OF CLASS!!”

Tickets to the August 24 engagement are $55-65 and can be purchased at theborgata.com.  A special meet-and-greet package is available as well for $150.
