Back to school time packs a hefty price tag for parents and guardians: all of the backpacks, notebooks, and lunchtime treats really add up. However, imagine not having the means or the resources to assist a child going back to school? That’s where Borgata team members stepped in.
Borgata team members stuffed 500 backpacks with school supplies for local children in need. Students will start the school year with a new backpack, notebooks, folders, pens and pencils, crayons, pencil pouches, erasers and rulers. Backpacks will be distributed to students through ten local nonprofit agencies. Also, over 200 backpacks were stuffed with dry food items – both backpacks and food items were all donated by team members.
The new “back to school” kits were delivered to a number of organizations, including Egg Harbor City Community School, CASA, Stockton Center for Community Engagement, Community FoodBank of NJ, Caring for Kids, Hendrick’s House Group / Hansen House for Women, Family Success Centers, St. James AME – Youth Explosion, Summer Feeding – AtlantiCare Healthplex, and United Way.
