Growing up, I spent most of my younger years around New York City and the northeast coast. I certainly made some trips to the suburbs, but I was a city kid through and through.
After the incredible events in April 2015 my life changed in so many ways. I had always dreamed of traveling as most do. Now, I was not only able to afford traveling but I also had the time!
In 2015, once I got my affairs in order back home I really started focusing on traveling to as many places as I could. The first trip I went on was to Germany for WSOP Europe, where I made my first, and only, WSOP final table.
I also traveled to Madrid to visit old friends and watch a Real Madrid-PSG soccer game.
Then in 2016 it was off to the Bahamas for the PCA at the Atlantis.
Once I was back in the US, I was a Shooting Star at Bay 101 in Northern California, traveled to visit old friends in Seattle and made multiple stops at Universal Studios in Orlando. I even made it to Washington, DC for a stop at the White House!
2017 included trips to Montreal, Cincinnati, Tijuana and Niagara Falls. I made a cross country trip from Florida to Las Vegas by car with my girlfriend for the World Series of Poker. I went to music festivals in Florida, California, New York and Las Vegas, which were truly some of the best times of my life.
At this point, the road was my home. While I had moved into an apartment in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, I was rarely in it and had become accustomed to used to living out of a suitcase.
By 2018 I could feel the wear and tear of the road getting to me. The lack of normalcy was starting to wear me down. My life was changing a lot during that time and decided that I needed to slow down. But – I needed to go out with a bang!
I packed up and went to Hong Kong and then Australia. I was in Australia for four weeks and was able to participate in the Aussie Millions! It was truly amazing seeing different places and cultures.
By the time my stay was through, I knew I was ready to make a big change. When I returned, I moved in with my girlfriend in New York and started making plans to get a place that I would finally call home.
Which leads me to my current chapter. Two weeks ago I moved into a condo in Jersey City, New Jersey and I couldn’t be more excited! I am only a 10 minute train ride to New York City and have the most perfect view of the Empire State Building right outside of my living room window.
And guess what? I am still able to play online poker from my house! Did I tell you that I have really missed playing online? While I have been able to play online when in New Jersey, or outside of the country, I missed the grind, the community and the fun.
I really do enjoy playing the game of poker and I’m hyped to get back in the streets. I can already tell it’s going to take a while to adapt to the docile, regular nature of just living a somewhat normal and off-the-road life. But I’m here to tell you that I’m excited to experience every step of the journey!
There’s a ton of exciting things happening at BorgataPoker.com as well, my favorite place to play online poker (come see me – misclick – at the tables). I’m forever impressed by their willingness to try new things, extend promotions to their players and strive to be the best online poker community.
As they say, all good things must come to an end and for me, endless traveling is one of those things.
I’m beyond blessed to have had the opportunity to do so, and I never will take it for granted.
See you all soon, on or off the tables.
