Borgata’s newest fine dining restaurant, Angeline, has been a huge hit with our guests, and the restaurant’s chef, Michael Symon, paid a visit to Savor Borgata to present an intimate cooking class. Groups of new friends shared tables filled with culinary goodies as they dove in hands-first to prepare two of Chef Symon’s signature dishes: soft polenta and his mother’s meatballs.
Guests enjoyed the Chef’s practical approach to cooking while sipping on wine and savory bites inspired by Angeline’s menu. Growing up with Greek and Sicilian influences, Chef Symon regularly creates boldly flavored, deeply satisfying dishes at his restaurants, while also sharing his exuberant, approachable cooking style and infectious laugh with viewers as an Iron Chef on Food Network.
Since being named a Best New Chef by Food & Wine magazine in 1998, the Cleveland native has been awarded numerous honors: in 2000, Gourmet magazine chose Lola as one of “America’s Best Restaurants;” in 2009, The James Beard Foundation awarded Symon with Best Chef: Great Lakes; and in 2010, Bon Appetit magazine included B Spot on their list of “Top 10 Best New Burger Joints.”
