It’s hard to believe that summer is almost over, but fear not. This August, some of the biggest and best acts in the industry are coming to Borgata’s world class entertainment venues. Check out the lineup below.
Joe Bonamassa: When he was 12 years old, Bonamassa opened for B.B. King. In the last 13 years, Bonamassa has put out 15 solo albums through his independent record label J&R Adventures, of which 11 have reached number one on the Billboard Blues charts. (August 2-3, 8PM, The Event Center, $99-189)
Martha Graham Cracker: Forget everything that you know about drag shows. The Martha Graham Cracker Cabaret is a drag show for people who love drag shows and who think that they don’t like drag. The Philadelphia-based sensation will be making her Atlantic City debut here at Borgata. (August 2, 9PM, The Music Box, $20)
Aerosmith: Throughout the 1970s, Aerosmith toured extensively and charted a dozen Billboard Hot 100 singles, including their first Top 40 hit and signature classic “Sweet Emotion” and the Top 10 hits “Dream On” and “Walk This Way”. By the end of the decade, they were among the most popular hard rock bands in the world. (August 16 at 8PM and August 18 at 7PM, The Event Center, $199-399)
America: America’s best-known tunes, which include “I Need You,” “Ventura Highway,” “Don’t Cross The River,” “Tin Man,” “Lonely People,” and “Sister Golden Hair, ” were cornerstones of 1970’s Top 40 and FM rock radio. Almost 50 years ago, the Grammy Award-winning band was formed, and now they’re celebrating on a 50th Anniversary World Tour. (August 16, 9PM, The Music Box, $55-65)
Billy Ray Cyrus: Your “achy breaky heart” will be healed at Borgata as multi-platinum selling recording artist Billy Ray Cyrus comes to The Event Center! Cyrus’ first album debuted on the Billboard album charts at number one, and would stay there for 17 weeks in 1992, making him one of the most talked-about people in America. (August 20, 8PM, The Event Center, $25-35).
Boyz II Men: Philadelphia’s favorite Boyz II Men returns to Borgata. During the 1990s, Boyz II Men gained international success. The trio holds the distinction of being the best-selling R&B group of all time, with an astounding 64 million albums sold. (August 23, 8PM, The Event Center, $49-79)
Rock the Yacht: This show features your favorite yacht rock hits of the 70’s & 80’s and includes an incredible lineup: Peter Beckett, John Ford Coley, Walter Egan, Looking Glass’s Eliot Lurie, plus Ambrosia. (August 24, 9PM, The Music Box, $45-55)
Miranda Lambert: Miranda Lambert’s recordings, along with her feisty down-home personality, resonate widely with audiences and make her a favorite of the country music world. Lambert has been honored by the Grammy Awards, the Academy of Country Music Awards and the Country Music Association Awards. (August 31, 7PM, The Event Center, $99-149)
Jay Pharoah: With six seasons as a cast member of NBC’s Saturday Night Live under his belt, Jay Pharoah is heading to Atlantic City at Borgata’s The Music Box! Best known for his wide array of uncanny celebrity impressions, including President Barack Obama, Will Smith, Denzel Washington, Stephen A. Smith, Kanye West and Chris Tucker, as well as his recurring character, school principal Daniel Frye, Jay will surely provide an evening of laugh-out-loud comedy. (August 3, 9PM, The Music box, $29-39)
Jerry Seinfeld: Jerry Seinfeld makes his return to Borgata, where he always plays to sell-out audiences. Best known for his sitcom that he co-created and co-wrote with Larry David, Seinfeld had a nine year run. Historically known as one of the best stand-up comedians of all time, Seinfeld himself will be here in Atlantic City this summer. (August 9-10, 8PM, The Event Center, $99-199)
Joey Diaz: Born in Cuba and raised in North Bergen, New Jersey, Diaz began his stand-up career in 1991. He has had roles in the television series My Name Is Earl and the films The Longest Yard and Taxi. Since 2012, Diaz has hosted the podcast, The Church of What’s Happening Now, is a regular guest on The Joe Rogan Experience, and produced an autobiographical documentary. (August 10, 8PM, The Music Box, $28.50)
The GI’s of Comedy: They’re standup comics, all veterans, still serving their country, one joke at a time. The GIs of Comedy, a team of professional comics who have come from all different branches including the US Army, US Air Force, US Navy, and US Marine Corps, have performed in nearly two dozen countries, in over 30 continental states, and to thousands of fans. (August 21, 8PM, The Music Box, $25)
Jim Gaffigan: Jim Gaffigan returns to Borgata this summer. His comedy primarily focuses on his fatherhood, food, and, well, laziness. He is also regarded as a “clean” comic, using little profanity in his routines. He has had several successful comedy specials, including Mr. Universe, Obsessed, and Cinco, all three of which received Grammy nominations. (August 24, 7PM and 10PM, The Event Center, $35-79)
Gabriel Iglesias: Gabriel Iglesias, or “Fluffy,” returns to Borgata for another hilarious stand-up set. Iglesias is famous for his specials on Comedy Central as well as many movies and TV programs. (August 30, 8PM, The Event Center, $55-75)
