The good news is that his story didn’t end that day in the ocean. With the help of the surf community, he got back into the sport he loved; and in 2015, he became the world champion of adaptive surfing.
The event in Wildwood was one of Jesse’s signature adaptive surfing clinics. His organization supplied adaptive surfboards and beach transfer wheelchairs for participants, plus breakfast snacks and lunch.
