Tom’s Tips: Get Into March Madness with Brackets @ Borgata

February 28, 2020 by Becky Grimm Leave a Comment

Every month, Tom Gable, Director of Race & Sports at Borgata, provides our readers with insider tips and strategies for making the most of their sports betting ventures.  This month, Tom tackles March Madness, and lends some practical hints for those wanting to enjoy Brackets @ Borgata.

Welcome to the madness of March!  March is one of, if not, the most exciting time of the year for sports betting.  The whole country turns their eyes towards college basketball.  Pretty soon, millions of people will be filling out brackets, discussing which teams could be a Cinderella this year and then watching the tournament that starts Thursday, March 19.

As we lead up to Selection Sunday on March 15, it is important to see which teams are playing well as the regular season winds down and the conference tournaments get underway. Right now at Borgata, you can wager on which college team you feel could win the entire tournament and even if a particular school will make it to the Final Four.  It’s important to look at the odds offered, as customers will be able to get better prices on many teams before all of the tournament teams are announced on March 15.

When the field gets narrowed down, oddsmakers will obviously re-adjust with less teams having a chance to win the national title.  Once the tournament teams are announced, you can then bet those games individually for the first round and a number of prop bets that we will be offering at Borgata, such as the “First to 15”.  This is a bet that we offer for all the first round games where you can bet on which team will reach 15 points first.  It’s fun, simple and fast, which is why a lot of people enjoy betting it.

So, if you are filling out a bracket for an office pool or will be joining us in person for Brackets@Borgata and will experience the incredible atmosphere here that the tournament brings, good luck on your selections and enjoy the madness!

Enjoy an Exclusive Dalmore Whisky Flight at Borgata’s Old Homestead

February 27, 2020 by Ryan Ross Leave a Comment

For 180 years, The Dalmore has been a masterpiece in the making. It’s a Single Malt Whisky like no other, overseen by an unbroken chain of visionary whisky makers whose entrepreneurial spirit and restless pursuit of the perfect whisky endures today. Exclusive to Borgata’s Old Homestead, guests can now enjoy “100 Years of The Dalmore,” a unique tasting experience including three rare Single Malt Scotch Whiskies from The Dalmore, the only such flight in the state of New Jersey.

Start with THE 25 YR.  It is matured in rare 25 year old sweet Palomino Fino sherry butts and 1980 first fill bourbon casks. These exceptional whiskies are then married together in bourbon barrels before being transferred, for the final time, into Tawny Port pipes for a totally unrivaled finish.

Then, there’s THE 35 YR. The spirit is matured in a distillery run bourbon barrel. A 30 year old Matusalem oloroso sherry butt and one Port “Colheita” pipe are expertly brought together by Master Distiller Richard Paterson to create an inimitable aged icon.

Finally, there’s THE 40 YR. Initially aged in American white oak ex-bourbon casks, the liquid was then transferred into 30 year old Gonzalez Byass Matusalem oloroso sherry butts where it remained for seven long years before being transferred into first fill bourbon barrels.

The flight, which is $1,000 and available at Old Homestead, is served on a silver tray with Baccarat crystal glasses engraved with “The Dalmore.”

The Dalmore Single Malt Whisky is available worldwide in the finest outlets, from Harrods, London, Galleries La Fayette of Paris, Beverly Wilshire of Los Angeles, and Shangri-La, Shanghai. For those that enjoy fine travel, The Dalmore is now available at 40,000 feet with Emirates First Class, and onboard Queen Mary II of Cunard. Worldwide demand for The Dalmore by consumers and collectors alike has continued to grow. The Dalmore is now the fastest growing single malt whisky worldwide and a Top Three Whisky Investment.

Q&A: Premier Resident DJ Bingo Players

February 24, 2020 by Carie York Leave a Comment

Bingo Players are one of Premier’s resident DJs, and with good reason. This Dutch dance and electro house musical project is led by DJ and producer Maarten Hoogstraten, and regularly plays the hottest clubs all over the United States and the world. Bingo Players are returning to Premier on March 14, 2020, and in anticipation, Hoogstraten sat down with us to chat about Atlantic City and his favorite music.

You’re a resident DJ at Borgata’s Premier.  What are some of your favorite things about the crowds here in Atlantic City? One of my favorite things about the Atlantic City crowd is that it is usually made up of people from all over the place, some locals, some from other countries. It feels good to know I’ll be performing for a variety of different people. Some will be fans and others it will be a first time to make new fans.

Who are some of the artists that you currently love to listen to?  That’s a really hard question! I love dance music of course and listen to a lot of French house music and early electro. I love Daft Punk, my all time favorite! I love the early Ed Banger records era of music like Thomas Bangalter, Justice, Dj Mehdi. I also really love listening to classics like Fleetwood Mac, Tom Petty, Prince, Def Leppard and really too many to list. My label, Hysteria Records, got that name from our favorite Def Leppard album “Hysteria.”

For someone who hasn’t come to a Bingo Players set, what kind of evening can they expect? If you haven’t been to a Bingo Players show, it’s a night full of energy and partying! MC Iceman keeps the crowd engaged all night. He has a ton of energy which transfers to the crowd and I try to do my thing behind the decks to keep people moving.

You’re known for your tracks “Touch Me,” “Get Up,” and “Out of My Mind.” What inspires you to keep creating new tracks? I am honestly inspired to create new tracks by living life, traveling, seeing the world, and getting to meet fans. These are the things that re-charge me and make me want to create new music.

You’ve toured all over the world and the United States.  Where have been some of your favorite places to play? This is a difficult question because there are so many places I loved to play in the US. Some of my favorite cities are Atlantic City (of course) because it’s near the beach and Premier and Borgata are very nice, as well as New York, Chicago and Los Angeles. That said, we have great shows everywhere. We recently played in Albuquerque and the crowd went nuts. If any of you reading this are going to Miami for WMC, I’m looking forward to our annual Bingo Beach party.

Jen’s Gems: Say Goodbye to Bags Under Your Eyes

February 21, 2020 by Jen Jones Leave a Comment

Borgata’s Director of Spas Jen Aarons thinks that bags are better suited for the airport rather than under your eyes.  In fact, there’s some simple at-home remedies that you can use to improve the health of the skin around your eye area.

“Place cold cucumbers on your eyes, relax, and enjoy the refresh,” she says.  “Cucumbers contain vitamin K.  Vitamin K re-hydrates tired skin and eliminates under eye bags and dark circles.”

If you’re looking for an extra professional touch to help those eyes, make sure to add on the Eye Treatment to any facial at either Spa Toccare or Immersion Spa. This corrective treatment incorporates the use of a hydrogel patch specifically formulated to reduce fine lines, puffiness, dark circles and rejuvenate tired eyes.

There’s also Borgata’s Light, Collagen, Action Facial. After an invigorating exfoliation, experience your face in lights with our collagen boosting LED light therapy treatment while we treat your hands and feet to a sugar scrub and warm paraffin. Relax as collagen masks add extra hydration to your face, eyes and lips. The experience concludes with an Asian inspired lifting and sculpting cryotherapy facial massage performed with cold jade stones.
