Hello summer! As we all know, the summer heat can be testing on your skin: between salty ocean water and prolonged time in the hot and humid sun, many folks are looking for a little hot weather. Borgata’s signature spas, Spa Toccare and Immersion Spa, have created two easy at-home treatments that you can try to make your skin and body feel refreshed and rejuvenated during the season. Cooling Facial Mask
This cooling mask feels great after a day in the sun. Enzymatic Lactic acid and Zinc in yogurt blend with the hydrating anti-inflammatory properties (vitamins A, B, C) of cucumber to hydrate, brighten and tone the skin. All combine to make a recipe for a happy face.
- ½ of medium cucumber
- 1 Tbsp. yogurt
Cleanse face using warm water. Mix ½ of cucumber peeled and pureed & 1 Tbsp. of plain yogurt. Apply a thick coat onto face 10-15 minutes. Rinse with warm water and then cold. Apply hydrating facial moisturizer.
Sweet n Salty Body Glow
The fine texture of sugar and the superior exfoliating qualities of fine Sea Salt makes them ideal to buff away old dry skin. Coconut oil’s deep moisturizing properties rapidly hydrate, replenish lost vitamins, and shield your skin from moisture loss. You now have a treatment that can transform dull dry skin into a youthful radiant glow!
- ¼ cup of fine sea salt
- ¼ cup of white sugar
- 2 Tbsp. shower gel – any flavor
- 1 Tbsp. coconut oil
In a small non-breakable bowl, mix together fine sea salt, sugar, and shower gel. Rinse body with warm water. In circular motion, gently scrub arms, legs, back, stomach and chest – pay close attention to knees and elbows. Rinse off in shower with warm water. Rinse for second time with cool water. Step out of shower onto dry mat. Pat dry with towel. Apply coconut oil and gently pat dry off excess oil
