The holidays are great aren’t they?
All that shopping and running around. Decorating everything that doesn’t move. There’s cooking, eating, cooking some more, eating, cooking, eating some more.
There’s the drives to see relatives in 27 different states or the reverse fun of having 71 relatives visit you in your three-bedroom house with two baths.
Then some cooking and eating.
And finally, a massive New Year’s Eve party with cooking and eating and drinking and dancing and eating followed by a day of watching parades and football and then cooking and eating.
Yes, the holidays are great. Sure you gained 15 pounds, you’re a nervous wreck and you haven’t seen the bathroom floor through the wet towels in two weeks, but hey, the holidays are gre … You know what?
You could probably use a break.

And if that’s not enough, we’re about to make The Pump Room better.
The Pump Room will be closed from December 1 to December 12 as it receives a major upgrade that will include installation of all new cardio equipment (from Life Fitness), a new stretching station and more. The upgrade replaces much of The Pump Room’s original equipment form its opening 11 years ago.
And that’s not even mentioning a complete redecorating with new wall coverings, carpets and ceiling tiles.

There was a time, back in the olden days, when a trip to a “spa” basically meant taking a bath in hot mineral water.
Soothing? Yes. Relaxing? Yes. Much more of an experience than simply taking a hot bath? Not really.
Oh those silly people of olden days. How little they knew about the spa experience.
At Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa (again we point out that Spa is in our name) the spa experience is so much more than sitting in a hot pool out in the desert somewhere.
We exfoliate, massage, pamper, moisturize, rehydrate, decrease stress, repair skin damage, increase circulation and so much more. And yes, we have pools.
We have so much going on in our spas and facilities—Spa Toccare, Immersion Spa, The Salon and The Barbershop—that we’ve set aside an entire week we’re dubbing the Borgata Spa Experience from October 19-24.
Look for specials and a series of spa events (make-up demonstrations, skin analysis, etc.) all week long.
Ah October. It’s the season of the pumpkin and their friendly orange glow is everywhere.
They’re on our porches, in our window displays and gathered in bunches at road-side stands. And they’re mild fall flavor is spicing up everything from pies to our double latte grandes.
And, of course, they make for a great facial.
Yes, you read right—a great facial.
Pumpkins, it turns out, are really, really good for you. They’re filled with vitamin A, E and C and loaded with powerful enzymes that help cleanse the skin. As a matter of fact, that whole orange glow thing comes from carotenoids, wrinkle-fighting plant pigments that help neutralize free radicals in the skin, keeping them from damaging the cells that fast-forward aging.
Plus, pumpkin has hydrating properties and are a good source of fiber.

Inside there are comfortable chairs, straight razor shaves and combs in those jars with the blue liquid nobody can identify, but smells real nice. Unless you’re a TV weather person, you’re probably O-V-E-R this winter. If ignorance is bliss, we stopped counting snow totals three storms ago.
